I didn't realize how much stress was affecting my behavior, ruling my thoughts and helping me gain unwanted weight.
After I read about the Gabriel Method for weight loss I felt a sense of peace with in seconds.
It seems so simple dump stress, lose weight. Why couldn't I see this years ago!!!! John makes everything seem so clear. And that is when we are stressed, depressed, have unresolved issues and are lying to ourselves we tend to constantly crave junk in order to pad our feelings. But instead we end up padding our bodies with extra layers of fat as a result.
I used to bottle stress and wear it daily as my favorite perfume since the beginning of time. I would hear people say practice relaxation techniques but I was wound so tight the message never got through. And usually the greater the stress the greater the caloric downfall.
Finally the message got through crystal clear after I was able to resolve a large relationship issue. It was like a million pound weight was lifted and so was my clarity and focus.
Facing the truth is so difficult and lying to yourself or living an unauthentic life is pure misery that can never be fixed with food, booze, codependent relationships or shopping until your broke.
Nothing changes until issues are resolved and peace can come through you.
Food choices get better, exercise is given a priority, real love of oneself takes over and fears disappear.
"When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up.
Let your reason get you back up." - Les Brown

Why Sugar Is Pure Evil
I am 100% convinced sugar is the new nicotine. From my own experience and other empirical evidence.
WHY SUGAR IS PURE EVIL:
1. It leeches vitamins and minerals from bones and teeth during digestion in order to prevent the blood from becoming overly acidic and poisoning us to death.
2. After a saturation point is reached in the body from too much sugar consumption, glycogen is retuned to the blood in the form of fatty acids, which get stored as fat in the belly, thighs and bootie.
(that's why I always felt like I had a pillow in my stomach).
3. Once the fat is stored on the body, fatty acids work there way to vital organs, like the liver, heart and kidneys. This in turn makes the organs start to slow down and degenerate. Hence, fatty liver disease.
4. Excess sugar effects the brain when vitamins are leached from the body and our intestinal flora is out of balance. Which causes brain fog and fatigue.
5. Sugar promotes wrinkles and causes dry skin, accelerating the aging process.
6. Since sugar lacks nutrients like protein and fiber the consumer is enabled to eat a king size Kitt Katt, a box of Mike and Ikes, pretzels and still be ready to go for pizza.
Which causes rapid weight gain, think freshman 15.
7. When going on a diet the first rule is usually to eliminate sugar.
8. Manufactures try to confuse consumers by using other names for sugar. Like barley malt, corn syrup, crystallin fructose, glucose maltodextrin, maltose.
They may be slightly different, however, they all go through a refining process and raise insulin levels.
9. As we all know anything done in secret or to purposely confuse the public is usually wrong. Just like cigarette manufactures hiding the amount of nicotine sprayed on tobacco causing the consumer to become even more addicted.
10. Sugar has no nutritional value, destroys organs, causes lethargy, brain fog and makes us fat and depressed.
On that happy note, seeing sugar for what it really is should make the consumer angry as hell and more determined to kick the habit.

Kim:)

Make 10 Goals Per Day And Lose Weight Fast
Time flies by in warp speed these days with the amount of endless traffic, work, school, domestic duties, etc, which makes it difficult to get everything done in one day. Especially workouts that can be easily excused, since we are so busy that we say I'll do it "tomorrow" and of course two months pass and we still haven't gone to the gym. Now it feels like forever and that can make it even more difficult to go.
Writing out ten goals per day allows you to plan events and make sure sh*t gets done, no matter what.
And there is always going to be sh*t .
Tasks that are easily overlooked (like the gym) must go first on the list.
As Tony Robbins says if you keep saying I should do something i.e workout, quit smoking, people usually don't follow through because the event is too far off in the future.
But if we turn a "should" into a "must" we make sure the task is easily expedited.
With time these "must" turn into a healthy habits and that means no more pitiful excuses to park our butts on the couch and say "I'll do it tomorrow".
An example of a typical day:
1. Work Out
2. Drink 3 liters of water (through out day)
3. Food prep
4. Take a walk during a work break
5. Return emails
6. Clean and organize living space
7. Get things ready for the tomorrow
8. Socialize with family, friends, help kids with homework etc.
9. Read/Relax
10. Go to sleep early in order to get 8 hours

Weight Watchers Points And Raw Foods Means Quick Weight loss
In my quest for optimum health and weight loss, I investigated Weight Watchers points to see how raw foods added up in the course of a day. What I found is that they don't, they have 0 points. So that means you can dive in like a crane and not face the repercussions of gluttony. And with raw foods you don't have to strap on the feed bag and go to town because of the high water and fiber content you get full faster and no need to unbutton the pants or take a nap.
For a typical female age 35, weighing 150 lbs, at 5'7 the weight watchers points would be 26 in order to lose a pound a week.
The goal of course is not to go over 26 points per day and to choose wisely.
For example:
1 Piece of Chocolate Cake with chocolate frosting (138 grams) =15 points
Big Mac (McDonald's) = 14 points
Blueberry Bagel (bakery style) = 8 points
1/4 cup of Almonds = 4 points
Protein Shake = 4 points
1/4 Avocado = 2 points
Subway Sandwich 6" Veggie Delight on wheat bread = 6 points
1 Slice of Wheat Bread = 2 points
RAW FOODS WITH 0 POINTS
Apples Celery Pears Watercress
Apricots Cherries Peaches Watermelon
Artichoke hearts Clementines Pickles
Asparagus Cucumbers Pico de gallo
Bamboo shoots Endive Pineapple
Bananas Eggplant Plums
Bean sprouts Grapes Radishes
Beets Grapefruit Raspberries
Bell peppers Honeydew Rhubarb
Black berries Kiwi Rutabaga
Blueberries Kohlrabi Most Salsas
Broccoli Leeks Squash
Brussel sprouts Lemons Spinach
Cabbage Mangoes Tangerines
Carrots Oranges Tomatoes
Cantaloupe Papaya Turnips
I try to aim for the low GI index foods and distribute the "point's" throughout the day. Along with drinking lots of water, at least 3 liters.
Yes you can!!!!!
KEEP ON TRUCKIN MY FELLOW SUGARKICKERS!

Kim:)

Five Ways To Burn Fat Fast And Nix Depression
It's easy to start a "diet" and exercise program, but sticking to it for the long term is the difficult part. Especially if weight isn't coming off fast enough or you're not at the beach babe level you want to be.
I go through periods of numbness where I let stupid people and things that I can't control get to me. I call them sleep walking moments where depression hits hard and it seems there is no end in sight. However, being a creature of habit I still get my butt to the gym and fight like a ninja warrior to get through my work out.
A few things I do to shake the depression and stay motivated are:
GO BACK TO THE BASICS
Why do I want to stay on a healthy path and look and feel like super woman? Because being healthy, strong and clear is the best gift you can give your mind and body. Plus it's free and the best anti depressant on earth.
GET A VISION BOARD
I use a piece of a card board box as a bulletin board and print pictures of my female fitness idols. Like Ashley Horner, Jamie Eason, Jen Jewell, etc.
They serve as a perfect reminders to where I want to be physically.
HAVE GRATITUDE
Count your blessings daily because no matter how bad things are at the moment they could always be worse, and for many people having your life would be a dream.
As long as your body functions properly and you can walk, talk, see, use the bathroom by yourself, be grateful. Use your strength to help others, even if it's holding a door for someone it can make their day.
GIVE STUFF AWAY
Having a closet full of stuff that isn't used or appreciated is a huge waste of space. Buying stuff to be happy is the biggest lie most people participate in daily. I know I did it for a long time, but the second I became aware of this addiction my habits changed 100%. Before impulse buying I stop and think do I really need this. The answer 100% of the time is no.
USE YOUR FELLOW GYM MEMBERS AS MOTIVATORS
My gym is kind of snobby, but there are a few people that work their tales off and make me glad I came. One guy doesn't give a crap who's around and he runs, lifts, grunts, moans and the most important thing is he sweats and goes every day. I am so glad when I see him show up, he seems like a great humble guy and makes me smile.
The other one is this female who rocks out, jumps around and has a great time and doesn't give a sh*t who's watching.
I love these regulars, they make my mornings and one of these days I am going to thank them.
Life can be toxic and depressing , but making progress makes you fearless.
Use your time wisely, never give up, focus on your goals and keep pushing!!!!!!!
NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHO
YOU CAN AND YOU WILL!

May I Be Frank Daily Affirmation (I love this movie)
If you haven't seen the movie "May I Be Frank," I highly recommend it. It's so inspirational and uplifting and it's a true story, which make for the best stories.
Frank's Daily Affirmation:
I Frank do love me
my body's vigor and harmony
I am perfect health, radiant beauty and divine energy
I now hold in my mind this new image of myself as a thriving, flourishing and gloriously beautiful person
Saying this affirmation every morning for 30 days is life changing, because the body hears every world the mind is saying, good and bad.
Give it a wheat grass shot!!!

Gaining Weight On A Raw Food Diet…Not For Long
A year ago I turned to a raw food diet in desperation to lose weight, gain a new positive perspective on life and get my happy back, and it worked. However, recently I started gaining weight on that same raw food diet. WTF, I was eating 100% raw, working out like a crazy person 5 days a week and gaining weight. And it wasn't muscle it was mush.
So after taking a hard look at my diet I found the mistakes that I was making that made me pack on pounds.
1. Eating way too many nuts.
Nuts are healthy but you can't eat a 1/2 pound every single day and expect rapid weight loss. I think I was eating 1/2 pound in the morning and 1/4 of a pound at night, if not more. I was doing this almost every day.
I was having serious work stress and it was making me crave crunchy foods that I would eat if I was hungry or not.
So now I rarely eat nuts, since I will over dose on em.
Nuts in moderation are great, you just can't eat a truck load.
2. Eating late at night. This is one of the worst. If you eat late your body isn't burning off the calories you just consumed so they get stored in the cells as fat, depending on their glycemic index and weight creeps up on you. Plus you wake up feeling like crap and not well rested because your body had to work all night digesting food.
3. Eating dehydrated fruit, yes it's vegan but it has a ton of sugar which raises insulin levels and unless your sweatin' to the oldies right away, it's going take up residency in your cells as fat. Hello cellulite :(
4. Using too many "healthy" sugar substitutes like Stevia and Xylitol. They are much better than real sugar or the other substitutes, but you don't want to use them as a crutch and put it in everything. I think it's best to keep food as natural as possible.
5. Not drinking enough water. Sometimes I wake up and I am thinking why am I so hungry. But it's not actual hunger it's dehydration. Because I can remember being thirsty in the middle of the night and too lazy to get up and drink some water. So while I am getting ready in the morning I try to drink at least 1 liter. The goal is to 3 liters a day
6.Waiting too long to eat. Doing this can turn into a sabotaging situation where you're so hungry you end up in a dangerous place like taco bell or the food court. If slips happen, don't get down on yourself or give up, let it go, get your self back on track asap and keep going in a healthy direction of a mostly raw vegan diet. Be sure to pack healthy snacks. Because we all know Sh*t happens sometimes. lol.
7. Eating too much in general, especially out of boredom. You can eat a lot on a raw food diet, especially if it's almost all greens. But I was over eating tons of fats like avocados, coconut oil and nuts which caused me to gain weight.
8. Don't eat while wearing a moo moo or the I gave up on life sweat pants. Too much wiggle room around the waist could be a recipe for disaster. I made the moo moo mistake last night:( Fitted clothing is usually better, save the moo moo's for sleeping.
THE SOLUTION
1. I had to stop the nuts. They were making me nuts almost to the point where I would get so depressed that I would slip into my old habits. Like being a hermit, negative thoughts, impulse buying etc.
2. Ease up on the dehydrated fruit. In a pinch it's better than other packaged junk food, but again moderation is the key to success. Gluttony is just bad in general even if it is raw food. It's better to get a grip and have control over eating habits. Like anything else it takes practice, but before you know it you just stop eating when satiated and no need to unbutton the jeans.
3. I had to throw my hands up and say screw it, I am going to throw some broccoli and spinach on the George Foreman grill and eat some damn cooked food. I know it's dead and I killed the enzymes, but I feel better, I am not bloated and I have lost weight.
4. I am not trying to be a perfect 100% raw vegan anymore. I was trying so hard to fit into this perfect mold, that I started obsessing over food and eating everything in sight.
I remember when I was a vegetarian and I met this guy that was vegan and he was super fat. Back then I was thinking how is this possible he's vegan and still fat, well now I think I know why. I hope he discovered his mistakes too. lol :)
5. Have something to look forward to. When I am just working and sleeping with no fun in sight, bad habits creep up. Luckily they are shot down pretty quick, so it helps to have some fun things planned down the road to keep you moving and grooving in the right path.
6. Keep a journal. Bite and write
Stress is always going to be there, so there is no need to stress about being a perfect vegan. After I decided to just roll with the punches of daily life and do my best under the circumstances to stay healthy, things are falling back into place, weight is coming off and I am getting my happy back, again.
XOXO,
Kim

Juicing For Weight Loss And Mental Clarity
Now that the "pro" juice fast is over with I am ready to sign up for another round since I am feeling so good and I kind of got the hang of the weird feelings that come with juicing. At first I was dragging a little more than usual and not enjoying the ginger over dose or having to make daily stops to pick up the juice booty. However,...
THE HARDEST PART OF JUICE FASTING IS GETTING OVER THE FEAR OF FASTING!!!!
It's not difficult or scary, in fact it's easy and down right fun. Once you start to break bad habits like eating out of boredom or depression, the smooth sailing begins.
If I started to feel tired or out of it, usually at night after a long work day, I grabbed on to a glimmer of hope and I knew that if I kept on truckin, and didn't have any night time nibbles, that I would wake up feeling rested and good.
Juicing is a fun ride, feels good and is a great way to break food addictions and bad habits.
I've noticed that good things happen when I step out of my comfort zone, break out of the boring daily rut that I put myself in and finally start living the life that I want to live.
My advice is just do it!!!!! Even for only 1 day or 3 at the most. Regardless, it's great to give your body a rest from digestion, put a little pep in your step, and the only thing to lose is weight.
Dang, juicing looks good on you :)
XOXO,
Kim

Juice Fasting For Weight Loss And Endless Energy Day 8
Hello All,
It's day 8 and I am feeling good, I have lost 7 pounds and I am breaking out worse than usual. Which are probably the toxins trying to feel themselves. My energy is good and my mind is crystal clear. So much that I remember things from when I was a kid. I just have weird memories that that come out of no where. Plus I notice all the times when I would have eaten out of borden and habit, which is quite frequent.
Other notable mentions that stick out with my new found clarity is all of the advertising for fast food and processed junk food. It is amazing what these companies do to keep people addicted and feeling miserable. It's completely disgusting, horrifying and explains the obesity epidemic, and the sorry state of mental and emotional health for many people.
I am 100% positive that most of my depression was linked to my crappy diet. I now realize what a lot of the raw food guru's are talking about when they say that they are looking for or have found the truth. I have learned a lot in the past few days and some of it is damn scary. On that happy note……
Since I'm not at red bull energy levels yet, possibly because of the mini rainbow I have been eating, which might actually be a medium rainbow, I am going to enlist the help of a "professional" cleansing establishment. Like a desperate dude sometimes you gotta pay for it. That's so awful, but oh well. HAHA.
The professional establishment makes the juice for you and you pick it up every morning. I do know that on the Pro fast they have you drink at smootie at the end of the day so you can start the night de-send into chill hood, then transition to sleep. Which is really good because the first 2 days of the fast it was difficult to fall asleep at the usual bedtime.
However, just to clarify real quick, my energy levels are still a lot higher than normal. For example, once I am done with work, I don't feel like I need to go home and sleep right away, like I usually did, I am still up for errands, etc. and this weekend I "redecorated" my place which I have wanted to do for a long time. Then when I do sleep it's deep and sound. Even though I still have to get up and go to the bathroom. lol. :)
I will post the "professional" juice fast menu tomorrow. Ending the day on a smoothie is a great idea;
KEEP ON TRUCKIN MY FELLOW SUGAR KICKERS,

Kim

Juice Fasting For Weight Loss And Endless Energy Day 5
It's day 5 and I still feel good, but a little out of it. Like I kind of zoned out for a second at a stop light while I was reading a bill board. However, that could be due to Aunt flow being in town.
My energy level is good and I am not really hungry, but I ended up having 2 banana's and a handful of nuts this morning because the gym was not a place I wanted to be. And normally I don't even think about it, I roll outta bed and go.
I decided if I have to add a few raw fruit's to be able to maintain the cleanse and still work out so be it.
Eating just a small raw rainbow should be okay. Not like the full arch that my hoggula self is used to.
Regardless, I am not craving bad stuff, energy levels are steady, and I feel lighter and tighter. Tomorrow I am going to check my weight and try to get a little more sleep in order to do some more marathon training and form my abs of steel. lol
KEEP ON TRUCKIN MY FELLOW SUGARKICKERS :)
XOXO,
Kim:)

Juice Fasting For Weight Loss And Endless Energy Day 3
I have lost 2 pounds by day 3, and strangely enough I still feel pretty good. My head is clear and I'm more focused on important things.
I am not sweatin the small stuff like I usually do. Like traffic jams, my irritating family dramas, work stress, etc.
My energy is steady, but not skyrocketing.
I am not hungry nor craving foods that I thought I would. Things seem very at peace and unusually calm.
It is only day 3 so it seems too early to have any great revelations.
My plan is to go 18 more days so I can reach my goals and feel the "magic" of fasting, while training for a half marathon.
Crazy?
I think so.
Keep on truckin my fellow Sugar Kickers!!!
XOXO,
Kim

Motivatation To Burn Fat Fast
Sometimes when you're not around like minded healthy people or life gets a little dull, it's good to have external motivators on hand.
I am talking real kicks in the butt to get you off your butt. For me it's the Rock n Roll marathon in Las Vegas, NV. The idea fell out of the sky when I asked my friend about her t shirt...
I was like a deer in head lights, " ooooh you ran a marathon, how scary, and cool!"
After the full interrogation I was thinking, hmmmm maybe I should do that too. Sounds like a perfect YOLO activity. And it's only 7 months away…….ok, I think I'll do it.
After registering and paying the non refundable fee, I decided that it's go time and training season is on. This is a perfect excuse stopper.
It doesn't matter if I am tired from working 40+ hours, or stressing about traffic, bills, etc. The goal is crystal clear and within a tangible grasp.
It feels great to have a fitness goal, aside from looking like a sexy beast,to get you out of your own stressed head and focus on something positive and important. Sometimes all it takes is a dead line and a clear purpose to fine tune your workouts and provide a concrete reason to high tail it to the gym.

Similarities Between Sugar Addiction and Cocaine Addiction
When I was addicted to sugar I lived the life of a drug addict. From the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep my thoughts were consumed with sugar.
Mostly I was trying to figure out how to quit and get my life back, instead of living like a junkie hermit.
The secret is out that sugar is as toxic as battery acid and yet people can't say no.
The following is a list of the similarities between sugar and cocaine:
1. The user is provided with quick energy then dropped lower to when they first started.
2. They destroy the liver.
3. They are both devoid of nutrients.
4. Most people will consume the substance until it's gone. Even if they feel sick and crazy.
5. It's consumed in secrecy.
6. People spend more money than normal.
7. They both rot teeth and give the user bad breath.
8. They stimulate the same neural pathways in the brain.
9. They both change and damage the users DNA.
10 The user develops a tolerance where they need to increase the amount to get to the same euphoric state.
11. They both consume the users thoughts and actions.
12. Cause depression, and suicidal thoughts even if a person has no history of depression.
13. Makes the user feel like their life is out of control.
14. Ages people faster.
15. The user is easily triggered in the quest for more consumption.
16. People get angry and cranky when they don't have it.
17. Causes the user to feel strung out and in a fog.
18. Makes concentration extremely difficult.
19. Causes memory disruption.
20. Causes joint pain.
21. Causes severe hangover type symptoms.
At the moment the most significant difference is that cocaine is illegal and sugar is dressed up like a wolf in sheeps clothing baiting the next victim.

How To Stop Sugar Binges Before They Start
When people get too hungry, angry, lonely, and tired (AKA the HALTS) it's extremely easy to get derailed from a clean diet and end up in the Krispy Kreme drive though.
Most of my sugar binges were fueled by one or all of these elements. Once these negative emotions get in the drivers seat it's easy to forget the important things in life and fall back on old habits. However, after the emotions are identified and called out, it's easy to get back on track. I mean super easy, with in seconds.
Often feeling disorganized and tired would set me up for potential diet misdemeanors and possible felonies. Then I would automatically go through the HALT LIST, which would settle my anxiety and help to get a grip of my feelings and refocus my energy.
It helps to stay prepared because life is unpredictable and sh*t always happens.
HELPFUL HINTS:
When temptation strikes ask yourself: I am too Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired (HALTS) or all of the above. Try and find the root of the problem and address it directly BEFORE YOU END UP IN THE KRISPY KREME DRIVE THROUGH.
As Dr. Phil says, "you can't change what you don't acknowledge".
1. Identify HALTS
2. Have Healthy food and water with you so you don't end up in a dangerous sugar situation.
3. Stay hydrated. I aim for 1 gallon of water a day. It takes a lot of water to flush fat and toxins.
4. Realize you can't change people, places or things. This will save you a lot of time and energy in the long run.
Once I really focused on only being able to change myself a huge weight was lifted. I decided to stick around the like minded people and dump the rest.
It sounds harsh but trying to change someone to become the person YOU want them to be is futile, you might as well try and paddle up stream with one ore in the water. You will get no where fast and exhaust yourself in the process.
When forced to be around negaholics i.e., coworkers, family members, etc. I just try and stay focused on my goals and go through my mental check list of things to do and block out their negativity. Which takes practice, but is very doable.
When in doubt focus on healthy goals and do more than you did yesterday to achieve them.
Rock on my fellow SugarkickerS!!!!!

Get Down And Get Dirty To Break A Sugar Addiction
Sometimes it helps to have an addictive personality if you can use it in a positive way.
For example getting up at 5 am to go to the gym or eating the same type of green foods every day and not the old sugar filled crap that once ruled/ruined your life.
What helped me break the bad habits was focusing on how toxic and harmful sugar is, instead of how bad I wanted it. At first the peanut butter cups still looked appealing, but I was able to stop and think about the chemical constituents of the chocolate, the high fat content, the spike insulin levels and the emotional toll it was going to have on me if I gave in to temptation. After 28 days or less, these thoughts became so ingrained that they are automatic, like breathing you don't even think about it anymore. When a chocolate easter bunny is sited near the check out line at the grocery store, I don't think I wanna bite that ear off right now, instead I see it for what it really is, toxic chemicals and depression in a pretty box.
At the start of the sugar kick it helps to have automatic visuals to go to when temptation hits.
For Example:
Chocolate…………think …………Mud, or dog Poop
Gummy Bears……think …………Wax
Peeps………………think ………………Mattress foam
Frosting………think ………………Street Paint
Oat Meal Cookies…………think …………Cat vomit
Chocolate Chip Cookies………think …………… Cat vomit with rat poop
Krispy Kreame Doughnuts……………….think….……recycled liposuction fat (my favorite)
This really works because sometimes the brain isn't going to do an automatic recap of the chemicals and preservatives used in the contraband to detour you, so this acts as the next best thing.
Each time I did this and said no to sugar it got easier and easier, until it no longer looked appealing.
I am going to put a more comprehensive list of the "visuals" on mysugarkick.com
If anyone has any other useful methods or suggestions please feel free to let me know.
Rock it today, because you can!!!!!

Use Your Houchie Heels To Quit Sugar Binges
Remember how excited you were when you saw those super cute Houchie heels at the mall and you just had to have them, no matter how high the credit card bill.
Then your bliss got instantly deleted after a sugar fix or 12. The giddy jumping, the heart pounding excitement, and all motivation for life in general disappears, and the heels end up in back of the closet never experiencing daylight, or pavement.
Sugar won the battle and left you feeling fat, empty and foggy. And it didn't even have to buy dinner first.
Sugar had the same effect on me as cocaine. I would eat it until it was completely gone, even if I felt sick afterwards and still want more the next day.
Thanks to medical imaging like MRI and PET scans there is scientific proof that sugar is as addictive as cocaine. The neurotransmitters in the brain light up at the anticipation of sugar just like the cocaine addict lights up in anticipation for coke.
After abusing sugar it takes more of the substance to have the same feel good reactions. So you need more of the drug to achieve the same high. Big food manufactures know this so they keep adding nasty chemicals to keep everyone foggy and addicted, and the addicts start young. The same way the cigarette manufactures add more nicotine to have customers for life.
When I was a sugar addicted robot I could no longer get "happy", I was just numb. Once I kicked sugar, about 2 months later I was driving to work and for whatever reason I actually noticed, holy crap, I'm happy and I feel good, no substances required. Amen!!!
To stay on the sugar free path I use the Houchie heels as motivation to keep on trucking with the raw foods, juices, nuts and seeds. And continually say F*ck you to sugar, you are not going to steel my happiness. And for this I am truly grateful every single day.

Make Short Term Goals And Eliminate Sugar Binges
Being a closet sugar addict enabled me to stay sick and addicted. I never made any plans to go out, have people over or seek a real healthy relationship. My only outing was to go to work and the drive thru. Other than that I stayed in my sweat pants and lived the solitary, lonely life as addict. If someone called with an invite or there was an event that I wanted to attend, with in seconds I made up an excuse why I couldn't go even if I really wanted to. After a while a year passed and I realized that HOLY CRAP A YEAR PASSED!!!!! and I literally did nothing to even try to have a life. I was a sugar addicted robot, and I only worked slept and ate. After I kicked, scratched and fought my way out of the fog, using raw foods, I started to make short term plans and goals. I became READY FOR LIFE, instead of waiting and praying for someone to rescue me, which never happens anyway (trust me you are never going to find your tall dark and handsome dream man/woman in the drive through of the local Taco Bell). Yes, work is hell, but it's always going to be hell, so you have to be flexible and work around your schedule in order to have a life and stay healthy. Even if that means less sleep once in a while. Make plans to go out on a Thursday, that way you have something to look forward to. During the week you keep your eyes on the prize, eliminate sugar binges, work out, go to sleep early, etc. I like Thursday and Sunday outing, since the weekend is covered too. If there is an upcoming wedding, high school reunion, birthday party, whatever, it may be too far down the road. What worked best for me is having weekly events. If the event isn't immediate, there is still room to misbehave, and you don't want to cancel, AGAIN. Life is too short to be controlled by sugar and starchy carbs. Time is precious and goes by too fast. GET UP, DUST OFF THE SUGAR, MAKE WEEKLY GOALS UNTIL THIS BECOMES A HABIT (ONLY 28 DAYS) AND FEEL YOURSELF BECOME PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY STRONGER EACH DAY, GUARANTEED!!!!!

Use Your Anger To Burn Fat Fast
The state of anger is not a fun or healthy place to be in. It raises your blood pressure, raises cortisol levels, cause telomeres to shrink, which causes premature ageing and a myriad of other negative autonomic reactions to take place with in milliseconds. So instead of staying in that angry place, make your anger work for you, by using it to propel you into action. Rather than going to the nearest Krispy Kreame or in my case Taco Bell, take that energy and run, literally, or briskly walk around the block. Do 50 jumping jacks, find a set of stairs to do sprints on. Grab a jump rope and try to keep it up for 3 minutes. Whatever activity you decide to do will burn fat along with the negative feelings and anxiety from the causative event. A litte goes a long way and adds up through out the day. Don't be an all or nothing, or I'll do it tomorrow person. Do it immediately and feel the benefits immediately. Any activity for even 5 minutes, will release serotonin, the feel good hormones, lower blood pressure, elevate your mood into a healthier state and BURN FAT, as well as distract you from peanut butter cups which are going to only disappoint. Guaranteed! Sugar and junk food rob you of money, energy, and motivation. Working out does the exact opposite. Stressful things are everywhere and often unavoidable. Turning anger into motivation will be the rocket fuel needed to make you take action and get out of that stressful funk almost immediately. Most days I'm super stressed and crazy at work so I turn to the stairwell during lunch to sprint off my anxiety and bad mood. At first I couldn't even reach the top without huffing and puffing and now I sail to the top without even blinking an eye. It's saved me from some crying spells too. lol :0 Instant gratification is a band aid, which usually causes people to chase their tail. Hard work always off and never disappoints. STOP BEING A VICTIM, GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND ROCK IT TODAY! BECAUSE YOU CAN!

DUMP SUGAR BINGES AND IMPULSE BUYING
ONCE I GOT A GRIP ON MY SUGAR ADDICTION, BY TURING TO RAW FOODS, I STARTED TO FEEL A SENSE OF CLARITY AND PEACE THAT I HAD NEVER KNOWN BEFORE. AFTER THE FOG CLEARED I BEGAN TO REALIZE HOW MUCH MATERIAL CRAP I WAS BUYING FOR NO REASON. I WOULD BE IN THE GROCERY STORE TO GET WHATEVER JUNK FOOD WAS ON MY LIST AND I WOULD END UP BUYING A PACKAGE OF HEADBANDS, SOCKS, MAKE UP AND PURPLE CAPRI YOGA PANTS. I DON'T EVEN LIKE PURPLE. YES, I LOVE SHOES AND PURSES LIKE MOST FEMALES BUT WAS BUYING A PACKAGE OF HEADBANDS, RANDOM SOCKS AND YOGA PANTS, THAT I DON'T NEED GOING TO MAKE ME HAPPY. HELL NO!!!! AFTER YEARS AND YEARS OF EATING POUNDS OF SUGAR, BUYING RANDOM PURSES, SHOES THAT I NEVER WORE, AND TONS OF MAKE UP, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS STUFF WILL NEVER MAKE ME HAPPY. I'VE TRIED TO PURCHASE HAPPINESS AND I ALWAYS END UP DISAPPOINTED. LEFT WITH A CLOSET FULL OF STUFF THAT'S NEVER USED AND ONLY CREATES A MESSY DISTRACTION. SUGAR ONLY PROVIDED TEMPORARY PAIN RELIEF AND ONCE I WAS ABLE TO CLIMB OUT OF THE FOG I WAS ABLE TO STOP IMPULSE BUYING AND FOCUS ON BUILDING HEALTH AND INTERNAL HAPPINESS. THERE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A CUTE PURSE, SHOES, OR MAKE UP, BUT THERE IS NO CLOSET BIG ENOUGH TO FILL THE VOID THAT MOST PEOPLE CARRY AROUND. AFTER SWITCHING TO ALKALIZING, DETOXIFYING FRUITS AND VEGGIES I AM HAPPY, CALM AND HAVE INNER PEACE. AND THE EXHAUSTING SEARCH FOR SOMETHING OR SOME ONE TO MAKE ME FULFILLED IS FINALLY OVER. YEEEE HAAAA!!!

JUMP OFF THE SUGAR ROLLER COASTER, LOSE WEIGHT AND GAIN PEACE
LIKE MOST PEOPLE I SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THE SUGAR WEIGHT GAIN AND LOSS ROLLER COASTER. SUGAR HAD THE SAME EFFECTS ON ME AS COCAINE AND EVERYDAY I SWORE I WAS GOING TO QUIT…… TOMORROW. WHEN I HIT ROCK BOTTOM, I ACTUALLY DID SOME HOMEWORK TO TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS SO ADDICTED TO SUGAR AND WHAT COULD I DO TO FREE MY SELF, FEEL GOOD AND LOSE WEIGHT. HERE IS A QUICK AND DIRTY PHYSIOLOGY LESSON ON HOW SUGAR EFFECTS THE BODY: YOU EAT A BAG OF GUMMY BEARS, SUGAR HITS THE BLOOD STREAM. THE PANCREAS PRODUCES INSULIN, A PEPTIDE HORMONE. INSULIN REGULATES METABOLISM OF CARBOHYDRATES AND FATS BY PROMOTING THE ABSORPTION OF GLUCOSE FROM THE BLOOD TO THE TISSUES WHERE IT WILL BE STORED AS FAT OR USED AS ENERGY. BUY YOUR TICKET FOR THE SUGAR ROLLER COASTER HERE:YOU EAT SOME GUMMY BEARS AND NOW YOU'RE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS WITH ENERGY. THEN TWO HOURS LATER ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS SLEEP. THIS IS DUE TO THE RISE IN BLOOD GLUCOSE, THANKS TO THE GUMMY BEARS, FOLLOWED BY THE RISE OF INSULIN, WHICH DROPS THE YOUR GLUCOSE LEVELS LEAVING YOU TIRED. THE GREATER THE SPIKE, THE GREATER THE DROP. AND NOW YOU NEED ANOTHER QUICK SUGAR FIX BECAUSE YOUR HUNGRY AND TIRED AGAIN. SINCE MOST OF US DON'T BURN UP ALL OF THE GUMMY BEARS, THEY GET STORED AS FAT. THINK OF INSULIN LIKE INSULATION, THE MORE YOUR INSULIN GOES UP (BY EATING GUMMY BEARS) THE MORE YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR IT LIKE A FAT BLANKET. INCREASE IN GUMMY BEARS =INCREASE IN INSULIN = INCREASE IN FAT OVER TIME, LOTS OF FAT. THE TRICK IS TO STAY AS ALKALINE, BY EATING MOSTLY GREEN VEGGIES, AND JUST SAY NO TO THE GUMMY BEARS, AND PROCESSED FOODS. IF A CERTAIN FOOD HAS A LABEL I TRY NOT TO EAT IT. BY SUBSTITUTING RAW FRUIT, LIKE BANANAS, GRAPES, FROZEN CHERRIES, BLUEBERRIES AND NUTS I WAS ABLE TO WEEN OFF THE HARDCORE STUFF LIKE PEANUT BUTTER CUPS, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, JELLY BEANS ETC. LATER ON I INCORPORATED NUTS, AND MORE VEGGIES.
ONCE YOU STEP AWAY FROM CANDY LAND AND YOU REALIZE HOW BAD SUGAR MAKES YOU FEEL YOU WON'T MISS IT AT ALL.

HOW TO PREVENT A SUGAR BINGE
DO YOU EVER FEEL SO HUNGRY THAT YOU JUST DON'T GIVE A CRAP AND YOU WANT TO DIVE HEAD FIRST INTO A BAG OF GUMMY BEARS, CHOCOLATE ETC., I USED TO FEEL THAT WAY A LITTLE TOO OFTEN. SO THEN I DECIDED TO THINK FIRST AND IMAGINE THE END RESULT IF I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THAT PLAN. IN ABOUT ONE SECOND I COULD PICURE MY SELF BEING SO SICKLY FULL THAT I HAD TO STOP DOING THE TASK AT HAND, BESIDES EATING, TAKE OFF MY NOW SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE PANTS AND GO LIE DOWN BEFORE THE EXTREME NAUSEA KICKS IN. SO NOW MY PRECIOUS AFTER WORK HOURS WOULD BE WASTED DUE TO A STATE OF SUGAR PARALYSIS. AND THINK OF ALL THE IMPORTANT MISSED OPPORTUNITIES, LAUNDRY, DOING DISHES, READING, WALKING THE DOG, MAKING WEIRD DRINKS IN THE BLENDER, COLOR BLOCKING WINDOWS, ETC. NOW THE ONLY ACTIVITY POSSIBLE IS LYING DOWN/SITTING DOWN FEELING HORRIBLE, DRAINED OF ENERGY AND FULL OF REGRET. BEFORE GIVING INTO TEMPTATION I TRY AND LOOK AT THE END RESULT, AND THINK HOW IS THIS 1 OR 5 BAGS, OF PEANUT M& M'S GOING TO MAKE ME FEEL? I ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER, LIKE SH*T!!! WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING BETTER TO DO THAN LIE IN BED AND FEEL MISERABLE. BEING A TRASH CAN FOR FOOD IS THE WORST WAY TO LIVE. IN FACT IT'S NOT LIVING, IT'S TAKING YOURSELF OUT OF LIFE. EVERY DAY IS BEAUTIFUL GIFT WHERE THERE IS AMPLE OPPORTUNITIES TO HAVE GRATITUDE, GET THINGS DONE AND WAKE UP HAPPY.

DID ANYONE WANT TO EAT PLAY DOUGH AS A KID?
I Know I sure did. It just seemed so soft and comforting, not to mention the weird, yet enticing smell it possessed. That was an instant trigger for me. It made me want cookie dough, marshmallows, brownies, bagels and anything else that I could mush up and eat. Well thanks to my accidental discovery I can now eat "Play Dough". JUST MIX: Half a cup of chia seeds Half a cup of water and waaaalaaaa PLAY DOUGH I added Acai Powder, a sprinkle of sun flower seeds a scoop of raw protein powder and the play dough party was on. Minus the nasty chemicals. Chia seeds and water are so versatile you can add any combo and make any sort of pudding like snack. IF ANYONE HAS ANY GOOD CHIA SEED RECIPES FEEL FREE TO SHARE GOODNESS. LESS CHOCOLATE MORE LOVE!
